Job Description
American Traveler is hiring a PACU RN with recent Level 1 or comparable Level 2 trauma experience and strong high-acuity skills.
Responsibilities
- Work in a high acuity, high volume PACU setting
- Care for post-surgical patients from a variety of specialties including vascular, general, thoracic, gynecology, neuro, orthopedic, and transplant
- Care includes managing ventricular drains, art lines, central lines, vasoactive and sedative drips, chest tubes, and tracheostomies
- Regularly manages overnight boarders including ICU craniotomies, step-down, and med-surg patients
- Day/night rotation with variable start times: 0700, 0800, 0900, 1000, 1100, and 1900
- Manage a dynamic environment characterized by high patient volume and acuity
- Evening shifts can be fast-paced and require strong organizational skills
- Must be able to care for complex post-op patients including those with neuro and vascular needs
- Dress code requirements: scrubs
Requirements
- Active NH or compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification required
- Recent Level 1 or comparable Level 2 trauma experience within the last 2 years required
- Must have experience with high acuity or ICU/PACU settings
- Familiarity with art lines, central lines, vasoactive and sedative drips, and management of chest tubes and trachs required
- No local candidates allowed; must reside at least 75 miles from the facility
