Position overview
Seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join a collaborative Neurology/Stroke team providing inpatient and ED-based stroke care at a community hospital in the Renton, WA area. This role focuses on rapid assessment, acute stroke management, and ongoing inpatient follow up in partnership with stroke neurologists and the interdisciplinary team.
Key responsibilities
Perform stroke-focused history and physicals, order and interpret diagnostics, and assist with acute treatment decisions under established protocols.
Manage daily inpatient rounding, documentation, and care coordination with Neurology, ED, ICU, rehab, nursing, and case management.
Participate in stroke alerts, quality initiatives, and evidence-based protocol implementation to support stroke program metrics and certification.
Qualifications
Licensed or license-eligible NP or PA in Washington State; national board certification required.
Prior neurology, stroke, or acute care experience strongly preferred; new grads with relevant rotations may be considered.
BLS and ACLS required; strong teamwork, communication, and comfort in a fast-paced acute setting.
Schedule and compensation
Full-time, hospital-based role with a combination of days and possible weekends; specific schedule to be discussed with the hiring team.
