FTE: Part Time, 0.6, 48.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)

Shift: Days

Pay: $38.91 - $60.31 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

Summary:
Provides direct lactation care and instruction to breastfeeding mothers and infants.

Responsibilities:
Performs initial and on-going assessments of the patient's lactation goals and issues.

Develops evidence-based feeding plans that address the mother and infant's feeding issues.

Designs and implements community outreach/education programs and activities.

Maintains knowledge of current lactation theories and research.

Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered/Professional Nursing program if less than 3 years experience.
• State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• IBCLC or Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC), Certified Lactation Specialist (CLS), or Certified Breastfeeding Specialist (CBS). Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider. International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) required within 2 years of hire, and any relevant certification as determined at position level.
• 2 years of recent maternal/child nursing experience.
• BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
