PCU Nursing Job Details

• Location: Englewood, Colorado (80113) – Denver Metro Area
• Healthcare Setting: 10th Floor, Main Hospital – Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Assignment Type: Travel RN
• Start Date: January 19, 2026
• End Date: April 20, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Nursing Shift: 12 Hour Nights (5:00 PM – 5:00 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Unit Size: 20 beds
• Staffing: Collaborative team of Registered Nurses (RNs) and Patient Care Technicians (PCTs)

PCU RN Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Colorado or compact state
• ACLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent Progressive Care Unit and cardiac nursing experience
• Proficiency with cardiac drips (heparin, tikosin, diltiazem, amiodarone, nitro, Lasix, ketamine)
• Experience with telemetry, transport monitors, suction, feeding pumps, trachs, BiPAP/CPAP, heated high flow, chest tubes, foleys, pacer wires/pacers, IV pumps, SCD pumps
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR preferred
• Strong teamwork and communication skills

PCU Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to cardiac and high-acuity patients in the Progressive Care Unit
• Monitor and manage patients on cardiac drips and advanced respiratory support equipment
• Assist with procedures including chest tube placement/removal, pacer wire removal, and 12-lead EKGs
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in Meditech EMR
• Foster a positive and supportive team environment
