This position is for an Interventional Radiology Technologist who assists radiologists with minimally invasive, image-guided procedures in an acute care hospital setting. The role involves operating specialized imaging equipment, administering contrast dyes, and ensuring patient safety throughout procedures. Candidates must hold a radiologic technologist license, relevant ARRT certifications, and have experience with angiographic equipment and interventional techniques.
A well-known hospital is seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist to join their Radiology team.
About the Opportunity:
- Schedule: 5 shifts per week including weekends
- Hours: 8am to 4pm
- Setting: Acute Care
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Interventional Radiologists with minimally invasive, image-guided procedures that use instruments to treat conditions in the body.
- Operate and maintain specialized imaging equipment
- Administer contrast dyes
- Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the procedure
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
A valid license and current registration to practice Diagnostic Radiography as a Radiologic Technologist issued by the NYSDOH (can be obtained after the offer)
Eligible Advanced Certifications from ARRT include the following:
ARRT (CI) - Cardiac Interventional Radiology
ARRT (CV) - Cardiovascular Interventional Radiology
ARRT (VI) - Vascular Interventional Radiology
Associate's Degree from a Radiologic Technology program
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
Minimum one (1) year of experience using angiographic equipment, balloon angioplasty and stenting
