Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN with ICU background for a Stepdown Unit night shift assignment requiring a NJ or compact license.
Responsibilities
- Position is based in a hospital Stepdown Unit (SDU) environment
- Night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
- Minimum assignment length of 13 weeks
- Patients span pediatric through geriatric age groups
- EPIC charting system is used
- May be required to float to a nearby sister hospital
- Provide specialized nursing care to patients transitioning from intensive care
- Responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments and maintaining accurate documentation
- Work collaboratively with the care team to deliver individualized patient care
- Requires knowledge of emergency equipment and procedures
- Must consistently follow National Patient Safety Goals and demonstrate professionalism
- Travelers may stay on assignment for up to one calendar year before a mandatory 30-60 day break is required
- Scrubs or dress code requirements will be provided during onboarding
Requirements
- Active NJ or compact state RN license required
- At least 1 year of ICU experience is required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred
- Strong assessment and clinical skills necessary for a stepdown/ICU environment
- Must live a minimum of 50 miles from the facility—local candidates will not be considered
