- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Speech Language Pathologist in an acute care hospital
- Current Maryland SLP license or Compact license
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
- BLS certification
- MBSImP certification
- Proficiency with Cerner EMR charting system
- Prior travel healthcare experience
- Weekend availability required
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
- Deliver comprehensive speech, language, and swallowing evaluations and treatments for adult and geriatric patients
- Perform Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBS) and Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluations of Swallowing (FEES)
- Utilize alternative and augmentative communication devices and strategies
- Conduct bedside swallow evaluations and develop compensatory strategies
- Educate patients and families on therapy plans and progress
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Float within hospital units as needed, within scope of practice
- Document patient care using Cerner EMR system
- Participate in ongoing reassessments and modify diet orders as appropriate
