• Contract Duration: 14 weeks
• Shift: Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts/week (Tuesday - Saturday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
• Hours per Week: 40
• Weekend Coverage: One weekend day per week
• On-Site Position
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,810 - $1,940

SLP Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Speech Language Pathologist in an acute care hospital
• Current Maryland SLP license or Compact license
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
• BLS certification
• MBSImP certification
• Proficiency with Cerner EMR charting system
• Prior travel healthcare experience
• Weekend availability required
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)

SLP Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive speech, language, and swallowing evaluations and treatments for adult and geriatric patients
• Perform Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBS) and Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluations of Swallowing (FEES)
• Utilize alternative and augmentative communication devices and strategies
• Conduct bedside swallow evaluations and develop compensatory strategies
• Educate patients and families on therapy plans and progress
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Float within hospital units as needed, within scope of practice
• Document patient care using Cerner EMR system
• Participate in ongoing reassessments and modify diet orders as appropriate
