American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU position at a Level I Trauma Center requiring a MO or compact license and strong critical care skills.
Responsibilities- Position is in the PACU of a short-term acute care teaching and Magnet hospital
- Unit features 38 patient bays and recovers 70-90 surgical patients daily, including adults, adolescents, and geriatrics
- Recover a wide range of surgical patients including neurosurgery, ENT, plastics, orthopedics, thoracic, vascular, trauma, general, colorectal, GYN, urological, electrophysiology, interventional radiology, and transplant
- No open heart or liver transplant cases are recovered in this unit
- Day shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 0700-1930; no weekends, on-call, or holiday shifts required
- Floating within scope to other units may be required
- Uses Epic charting system
- Unit supported by dedicated PCT/transport team
- Care for post-anesthesia patients with complex needs, including those requiring artificial airways, invasive monitoring, transfusions, and vasoactive medications
- Must be able to adapt to various surgical specialties and challenging trauma cases
- Navy blue scrubs required
- No more than 7 days of requested time off allowed per 13-week contract; no time off permitted during the first week of orientation
- Permanent employees must wait one year before returning as travelers
- Travelers can remain for up to 18 months before a mandatory 3-month break
- Parking is available at a cost of $15/day or $70/month
- Active MO or compact RN license required at time of consideration
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- At least 2-3 years of recent Level 1 ICU experience required
- Critical care and inpatient experience required
- Experience with Phase I PACU, dysrhythmia recognition/management, blood product administration, phlebotomy, starting IVs, IV vasopressors, ICP monitoring, and ventilated patient care required
- Epic charting system experience preferred
- Applicants must reside at least 75 miles from the facility
- Pending MO license considered
- First-time travelers are accepted
