The position requires a Master's-level NP license, at least three years of experience, and compliance with all relevant medical and regulatory standards.
UVA Health Remote within Virginia
UVA Health is seeking an experienced, autonomous Nurse Practitioner to join our new and innovative Virtual Care Clinic, providing high-quality patient care through a fully remote model while residing within the state of Virginia.
Schedule: 32 patient-facing hours + 8 administrative hours (40 hours/week)
Coverage Model: Three NPs rotate to provide 7-day coverage; schedule flexibility is essential
Location Requirement: Must reside in Virginia and deliver care exclusively from within the state

The Nurse Practitioner provides advanced clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and patient management across a variety of virtual care settings. Working in close collaboration with the medical director, administrative leadership, nurses, and the interprofessional team, this role ensures seamless patient care within the UVA Health system.
Key ResponsibilitiesPerform comprehensive patient assessments and health histories
Exercise independent clinical judgment in diagnosis and treatment within credentialed scope
Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests (labs, imaging, etc.)
Initiate CPR or emergency interventions when necessary
Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with Virginia prescriptive authority
Provide patient and family education on conditions and treatment plans
Initiate specialist referrals and consultations as needed
Document care accurately and assign appropriate CPT/ICD-10 coding
Participate in team reviews, professional development, and student education when applicable
Comply with UVA Health, CMS, and payer policies
Fulfill all reporting requirements (e.g., communicable diseases, deaths, etc.)
Additional duties as assigned aligned with independent NP practice
Autonomous Nurse Practitioner license required
Graduated from an accredited Master s-level Nurse Practitioner program
Minimum 3 years of experience as an NP
License or license-eligible as an Advanced Practice Provider in Virginia
Active RN license in Virginia (if NP)
Current BLS certification; ACLS, PALS, or NRP as required for specialty
Must meet all UVA Health credentialing and Virginia Board of Nursing/Medicine requirements
This role may require:
Prolonged standing, frequent bending or stooping

Potential exposure to noise, radiation, or infectious materials
