Unit Summary – Key Details Radius Rule: 50 miles. Must Submit: Unexpired driver’s license. Licensing: Any hits must be disclosed at submission. Beds: 48 RN Ratios: Days 1:5–7 | Nights 1:6–8 Certifications: BLS, active RN license (PCTs may take class or have CNA). Experience: Minimum 1 year; first-time travelers accepted. Patient Types: Pneumonia, UTI, AMS, GI bleed, ETOH withdrawal, falls/weakness. Drips: RNs titrate Heparin, Bumex, Lasix (no cardiac drip titration). Charge Nurse: • Days: 2 charges—take patients • Nights: 2 scheduled; if only 1, they do not take patients PCTs: Ratio 1:10–12; duties include vitals, BGMs, EKGs, monitors, ADLs. Respiratory: RT manages all respiratory equipment (BiPAP/CPAP/High Flow). RN monitors only. Telemetry: Monitor tech onsite; RNs not required to read strips. Scheduling: RN 7–7 | CNA 6–6. No self-scheduling or block scheduling. Travelers must be flexible. Weekends: Every other weekend Holidays: RN rotation; PCTs work if scheduled day falls on holiday Call: None Floating: To MS, MS-Tele, or IMC for lower acuity patients. Scrubs: RN – Navy | PCT – Ceil Blue | Secretary – Black & Pink Orientation: 1 day education/computer, 1 day on unit with preceptor
