Job Details:
• Work 0.9 FTE night shift schedule
• Weekend coverage as needed
• On call/call back availability as needed
• Patient ratio 1:7
• Floating between departments and local locations within 20 miles required
• Must successfully pass Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test before starting assignment
• One opportunity to retest if failed; second failure results in contract cancellation
• Utilize nursing process to provide direct patient care to assigned group of patients
• Provide safe, effective, patient-centered care through assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluating
• Coordinate patient care through collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare team
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physician or standard protocols
• Identify and meet patient and family learning and discharge needs
• Assume responsibility for clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel
• Work with medically complex patient population awaiting community placement
• Handle med/surg level patients with ability to recognize escalating and deteriorating patient conditions
• Charge experience preferred but not required
• Two years current experience required in 18+ bed telemetry/progressive care unit
• Must have completed at least one 13-week travel assignment
• Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required
• Required certifications: New Mexico or Compact State nursing license, BLS, ACLS
• BLS and ACLS must be through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• NIHSS certification preferred
