Resident Engineer Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary liaison between project stakeholders and the engineering team.
- Manage daily field operations, including construction inspections and contractor coordination.
- Ensure compliance with UDOT standards, specifications, and safety requirements.
- Monitor schedules, budgets, and project deliverables to drive efficiency and quality.
- Lead and mentor on-site teams to deliver exceptional results on highway and DOT-related projects.
- Conduct reporting, documentation, and client updates to keep projects on track and transparent.
Resident Engineer Qualifications:
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Utah (required).
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- UDOT CEMT Certification or the ability to obtain within 3 months of hire.
- 8+ years of experience managing highway or DOT construction projects.
- Strong understanding of roadway construction, inspection practices, and engineering documentation.
- Effective communicator with leadership experience and strong decision-making skills.
