This position at Mercy Hospital involves serving as a registered nurse educator specializing in women and children in the Mother Baby Unit. Join our team at Mercy Hospital and make a difference in the lives of women, children, and families. We are seeking a compassionate and skilled RN to serve as an Educator in our Mother Baby Unit. Position Details:
What You’ll Do
- Provide education to women, children, and families on topics such as:
- Heart health
- Childbirth and newborn care
- CPR and First Aid
- Babysitting and home safety
- Utilize approved program curriculum to deliver high-quality classes.
- Mentor new educators and assist with departmental workflow.
- Participate in community outreach programs, tours, and special events.
- Ensure a safe, respectful environment for all participants.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate’s, Diploma, or BSN).
- Licensure: Current RN license in the state of Missouri or compact licensure.
- Certifications:
- American Heart Association certification required to teach CPR and First Aid.
- Lamaze International certification preferred.
- Experience: Previous teaching experience preferred.
- Skills: Excellent communication and time management skills; ability to adapt and engage diverse audiences.
Additional Responsibilities
- Maintain compliance with safety, confidentiality, and infection control guidelines.
- Demonstrate flexibility and problem-solving in class delivery and technology use.
- Support quality improvement initiatives and departmental growth.
