Travel Nursing Job Details

• Location: Stockbridge, Georgia 30281 (Atlanta metro area)
• Assignment Length: 14 weeks
• Start Date: January 12, 2026
• End Date: April 20, 2026
• Shift: Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (07:00 - 19:00)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Unit: Medical Surgical (Med/Surg 10/2E)
• Patient Population: Adults and Geriatrics
• Bed Count: 34 beds, average daily census of 27
• Patient Ratio: 1:6
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend
• Floating: Required within facility
• Charting System: Epic, Pyxis, SBAR
• Scrub Color: Navy Blue

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical RN experience
• Active Georgia or Compact RN license (required at time of submission)
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• ACLS and CPI certifications preferred
• Experience with 1:6 patient ratio in Med/Surg settings
• Ability to float to other units within the facility
• Strong clinical skills: chest tubes, colostomy and feeding tube care, wound vacs, isolation precautions
• Two supervisory references highly preferred

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with diverse medical and surgical diagnoses (appendicitis, cholecystitis, pneumonia, COPD exacerbation, sepsis, hypertension, hypo/hyperglycemia, post-surgical procedures)
• Manage and monitor specialized equipment: NGTs, chest tubes, feeding tubes, wound vacs
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, and Social Services
• Document patient care and progress using Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR charting systems
• Float to other units within the healthcare facility as needed
• Work every other weekend and be available for holiday coverage per assignment policy
• Participate in orientation and complete required training modules
