This position is for a Family Medicine Physician in an established rural outpatient practice in Parkersburg, Iowa. The role involves providing comprehensive outpatient care with 36 direct patient care hours per week, supported by experienced clinical and non-clinical staff, onsite lab and imaging, and flexible scheduling. The physician will join a small team, participate in light call rotation, and have opportunities to assist at additional clinics while enjoying a supportive work environment and competitive benefits.
Family Medicine Physician Opportunity in Parkersburg, IAPosition Details:
- Seeking a Family Medicine Physician to join our team in Parkersburg, IA
- Established rural outpatient practice serving the Parkersburg community.
- Join team of 1 Physician and 1 Advanced Practitioner
- Full-time position, including dedicated administrative time, with flexible scheduling to ensure sufficient patient access
- 36 direct patient care hours, 4 hours of administrative time
- Cohesive group of colleagues and supportive staff allowing for autonomy while building the practice according to your preferences
- Experienced staff, both clinical and non-clinical, who know the patients and the community
- Onsite lab and X-ray (CBC, Hemoglobin A1C, Cholesterol panel, protimes ect.)
- Fully integrated system with clinics and hospitals on EPIC EMR to improve care coordination Responsibilities:
- Clinic hours Monday-Friday 8-5 PM
- Outpatient only with Average 18-20 patients per day
- 60 patients per day including lab and nurse visits
- 2-3 exam rooms per provider and 1 procedure room
- Shared call amongst the providers. Call is light, and first triaged through MyNurse line
- Call rotation is 1:8 weeks
- Opportunity to float to additional FM clinic including Grundy and Eldora to assist with coverage
- Ability to work as a team member to improve the health of the people and communities we serve
- General family medicine procedures such as joint injections, skin excisions, lacerations, casting, joint injections etc.
- Evaluates, interprets and coordinates information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care
- Patient-focused, friendly and willing to collaborate in a team environment
- Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical and problem-solving skills Qualifications:
- MD or DO
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Family Medicine
- Ability to obtain and hold an unrestricted license to practice in the state of Iowa
- Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the physicians field of practice
