Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Oncology Unit position requiring an OK or compact RN license and BLS certification.
Responsibilities
- Work in a 28-bed oncology unit with general surgical adult patients
- Telemetry capability is available in the unit
- Nurse to patient ratio is typically 1:5-6
- Support provided by PCTs, a unit coordinator, monitor techs, and virtual sitter monitoring
- Night shift position from 18:30 to 07:00
- 13-week contract assignment
- Responsible for direct patient care, monitoring, recording, and communicating patient conditions
- Serves as primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care
- Involves critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work independently
- Standard precautions and personal protective equipment are required
- Only one Ascension position may be held by a traveler at a time
- Local candidates are accepted but will receive a reduced rate due to the facility’s radius rule
- No COVID-19 vaccination required as of July 1, 2023
- Travelers should discuss contract extensions with managers 45 days before assignment end date
Requirements
- Active RN license from OK or a compact state
- Minimum of 1 year RN experience
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
- Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to assignment start
- Must provide US Social Security Number and a US home address
- Must provide copy of driver’s license, two references, and license verification
