Job DescriptionThe Registered Nurse in the Med Rehab unit plays a critical role in patient care for individuals with various neurological diseases and injuries. Each nurse is part of a dedicated care team that includes a physiatrist, nurse practitioner, therapists, and a social worker, focusing on a collaborative plan tailored to each patient's needs.
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care to individuals with cerebrovascular disease, traumatic brain injury, and other neurological conditions.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, and monitor patient responses to care.
- Educate patients and families on health management and rehabilitation strategies.
- Perform assessments and maintain accurate medical records utilizing Cerner charting.
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required; 1 year of experience in rehabilitation preferred.
- Charge nurse experience is preferred.
- BLS certification required (must be AHA). Acute care rehabilitation certification is preferred.
- Active West Virginia or compact RN license is required.
