American Traveler is seeking an experienced Neuro ICU RN with at least 1.5 years of neuro critical care experience and an active NM or compact RN license.
Responsibilities- Work in the Neuro ICU of a Level I trauma, teaching hospital
- Ratios are typically 1:2 in the Neuro ICU setting
- Patients include those with TBI, SAH, SDH, tumor resections, status epilepticus, and other neurologic disorders
- May be floated to other ICUs, PCU floors, ED, or PACU to care for admitted patients
- Cases may involve EVD insertions, neuro post-op care, A-line insertions, intubation, central line insertion, CRRT, post-TPA and post-thrombectomy care
- Uses EVD and CRRT equipment with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Cerner is used for charting; experience preferred
- 36 or 48 hour work weeks with varied weekend requirements based on unit needs
- Block scheduling may be accommodated but is not guaranteed
- On-call is not required
- Responsibilities include managing complex neurological and post-surgical ICU patients
- Travelers may be reassigned to CTICU depending on facility needs
- Occasionally may care for med-surg level patients when floated, with a ratio of up to 6:1
- Scrub color requirement is black
- Parking is provided at no cost
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Active NM or compact RN license required
- Minimum of 1.5 years neuro ICU experience
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Skills in ICP monitoring required
- COVID-19 vaccination required; medical or religious exemptions accepted with documentation
- No candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility will be considered
- RTO greater than 7 days requires approval
- Pending licenses are accepted
