Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Department position requiring a NY RN license and EPIC experience.
Responsibilities
- Work in an adult Emergency Department setting in a hospital environment
- Patient ratios are 1:5, serving adult and geriatric populations with all emergency diagnoses
- Shift schedule is 7p-7a, three 12-hour shifts per week for a 13-week contract
- Every other weekend and every other holiday work required if needed
- EPIC charting system experience is required
- May be required to float within ED skillset
- Specialized equipment includes Bair hugger, rapid infuser, and safe patient handling devices
- Responsibilities include providing emergency care for a wide range of complex trauma, neuro, and cardiac cases
- Supports adult and geriatric populations with occasional pediatric triage and trauma
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Scrub color requirement is any combination of navy blue and white
- Candidates must not reside within 75 miles of the facility
- All requested time off or block scheduling must be submitted at the time of application
Requirements
- Active New York State RN license required (no pending licenses accepted)
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department nursing experience
- Experience required in IV therapy (including blood administration, central line care, IV vasopressors), cardiac monitoring, ventilator management, and trauma
- Experience with neuro-trauma, CVA, TBI, spinal cord injuries, and triage required
- Must have experience with EPIC EMR
