Work can be conducted at VES facilities or the provider's own office with administrative tasks included within shifts.
Veterans Evaluation Services (a Maximus company) is seeking General Medicine providers to perform non-treatment Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams and Separation Health Assessments for U.S. Veterans. Providers may work per diem at a VES facility or from their own office, depending on location needs. This role is interview-based, low acuity, and ideal for clinicians experienced in general medicine and disability evaluations.
Dates / SchedulePRN, ongoing need
Options for -day (4-hour) or full-day (8-hour) shifts
Follow-up administrative work required (within the paid shift rate)
Current openings for providers with their own office:
Coeburn, VA 2 days/week
Covington, VA 1 day/week
Hillsville, VA 2 days/week
Emporia, VA day/week (50-mile radius required)
Must live within 50 miles of the service location unless otherwise noted
Local candidates only; travel included in rates
Perform one-time C&P exams and Separation Health Assessments
Exams are primarily interview-based with some targeted physical assessments
Range-of-motion testing
Muscle strength testing
METs testing (as applicable)
No diagnosis, treatment, or prescribing
No ongoing patient care or follow-up
Quick credentialing and onboarding
Work may occur at a VES facility or the provider s own office (as indicated)
Required administrative tasks: documentation, addendums, medical opinions, reviewing diagnostics
Multiple eligible specialties accepted:
Family Medicine
Internal Medicine
Orthopedic Surgery
Other general medicine backgrounds or C&P experience
Proficiency in METs testing, and evaluating/diagnosing respiratory and cardiovascular conditions
Active, unrestricted license
AANP certification
Must own a Windows laptop (no Mac/Apple)
Willing to complete DMA training and become DMA-certified
