Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical/Surgical position on a 28-bed unit with telemetry capability and night shift hours.
Responsibilities
- Work on the 11 West Medical/Surgical unit serving adult patients in a hospital setting
- 28-bed unit with both medical and surgical adult patient population
- Telemetry monitoring available for patients as needed
- RN to patient ratio is 1:5-6
- Support staff includes Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), a unit coordinator, virtual sitters, and monitor techs
- Night shift from 18:30 to 07:00
- Responsibilities include providing direct nursing care, implementing care plans, monitoring patient progress, coordinating with interdisciplinary teams, and facilitating discharge planning
- Must exercise sound judgment, critical thinking, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Utilizes standard precautions and required personal protective equipment
- Travelers are eligible for one position within the health system at a time and local candidates are accepted at a reduced rate per radius rule
- First-time travelers are accepted
- COVID-19 vaccination is not required
Requirements
- Active RN license and Nursys verification required within 30 days prior to start
- Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Minimum of 1 year recent Med/Surg experience required
- US Social Security Number and US home address required
- Submission of driver’s license, license verification, and two professional references required
