Performs support for physicians during invasive electrophysiology (EP) cardiac procedures, including equipment setup/maintenance, direct and indirect patient care, and monitoring during procedures and sedation. Requires relevant healthcare credential (RN, RCIS, respiratory therapist, paramedic, radiology technologist, or EP program graduate) and typically at least one year of related experience unless newly graduated from an EP/RCIS program. Must hold BCLS/ACLS and obtain RCIS/RCES certification within 24 months as applicable; position is full-time day shift at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital EP Lab.

RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Assisting the physician in performance of invasive electrophysiology procedures. Has basic knowledge of EP Lab equipment and the maintenance of it while administering direct/indirect care to patients undergoing invasive cardiac procedures. Provides direct and indirect care during established procedures and sedation for patients.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Registered Nurse (RN), Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), EP program graduate, Respiratory Therapist, Exercise Physiology, Paramedic, or Radiology Technologist.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
1 year EP, Healthcare Imaging, Exercise Physiology, Paramedic, Respiratory, or RN experience. No experience required if a graduate of a RCIS or EP program.
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
Based on healthcare experience (see above) applicable license required. If a graduate of RCIS or EP program, no license is required.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
BCLS and ACLS required
Must obtain RCIS/RCES within 24 months
