Clinical Pharmacist

Work at an NCCN/NCI Comprehensive Cancer Center supporting ambulatory infusion, investigational drugs and specialty retail. Full-time Pharmacist, Mon–Fri days (typical 7 AM–7 PM), hybrid workflows across Ambulatory Infusion, Investigational Drug Services and Specialty Retail; must hold active IL and MO pharmacist licenses; permanent role within Siteman Pharmacy. • Active pharmacist licenses in Illinois and Missouri • PharmD or BS Pharmacy required • Experience with infusion/oncology, investigational drug handling preferred • Medication Therapy Services credential or ability to obtain • Ability to supervise technicians/interns and document per regulations

Are you a licensed pharmacist looking for a new adventure? We are seeking a dedicated and versatile Pharmacist to join our Siteman Pharmacy team. The individual will play a crucial role in three primary workflows at a NCCN/NCI Comprehensive Cancer Center: Ambulatory Infusion, Investigational Drug Services, and Specialty Retail. This position requires a pharmacist licensed in both Illinois and Missouri.

Role Purpose

Assess, monitor, initiate and modify medication use according to patient condition and age specific criteria. Ensure prompt and accurate medication preparation and dispensing. Prevent, direct and resolve medication-related issues. Supervise and direct supportive personnel. Counsel and educate to promote optimal drug therapy. Direct and assist in the procurement, storage, distribution and disposal of medications.

 

Responsibilities

Directs and manages workflow including oversight of technicians, interns and volunteers ensuring the accuracy of their work in accordance with departmental procedures and Federal and State regulations.

Participates in departmental meetings and on committees at the health service organization, as appropriate.

Serves as medication therapy resource for activities such as drug information, training of staff, transitions of care and Medication Therapy Services.

Evaluates medication orders for appropriateness with regard to patient condition, organ function and concomitant therapies to promote optimal patient outcomes. Documents all activities and communication as appropriate.

Recognize opportunities and offer solutions to maximize efficiency and promote safety within the medication use process.
