Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Medical Telemetry position requiring strong telemetry and cardiac drip skills.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 37-bed Medical Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
• Primary patient population includes CHF, atrial fibrillation, pulmonary embolism, pneumonia, substance use, dementia with cardiac comorbidities, and occasional surgical patients
• Patients may be on cardiac drips such as Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, Lasix, and Heparin
• Care provided for post-pacemaker, post-cardiac catheterization, and NSTEMI patients
• Night shift schedule from 19:00 to 07:30 with every other weekend required
• Clinician-to-patient ratio on night shift is 1:5-6
• Use of Epic EMR for charting
• Floating to other applicable units is required
• Provide telemetry and nursing care for complex cardiac and medical patients
• Team typically includes a charge RN without patient assignment during day shift
• Adherence to hospital dress code required
• Limited parking options may require use of public transportation or paid parking nearby
• First-time travelers are accepted
• All time off requests must be submitted at the time of application

Requirements

• Active, unencumbered RN license for Massachusetts required at the time of consideration; MA conditional licenses not accepted
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant nursing experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA required
• Telemetry certification and ability to independently interpret telemetry strips is required
• Experience with cardiac drips and immediate post-cardiac procedures required
• COVID and Flu vaccines required with no religious or medical exemptions allowed
