Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for night shifts in a low acuity ICU setting, requiring strong independence and a TX or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Short term acute care hospital with a Level IV Trauma Center
• Night shifts, 3x12 hours, 19:00-07:00
• ICU unit with low acuity patients and a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3
• Nurse may be the only staff member in the ICU and must work independently
• Weekend shifts required, 6 shifts per 6-week schedule
• No floating between units required for this assignment
• No on-call responsibilities
• Uses Epic EMR, Epic experience required
• Navy blue scrubs required for RNs
• Will serve as the sole ICU RN on shift, overseeing patient care in a low acuity environment
• Leadership or charge experience over Med-Surg units preferred but not required
• All travelers must be willing to float between facilities within the state if needed
• Roles are open to first-time travelers
• Free parking available onsite
• Minimal to no RTO is recommended; excess RTO may affect eligibility
• Requested time off must be addressed during application and may be denied post-offer
• COVID and flu vaccination may be required

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license
• At least 1 year of ICU RN experience; 2 years preferred
• Current certifications in ACLS and PALS
• Ability to work independently in a low-acuity ICU setting
• Epic EMR experience required
• Two supervisory references covering one year of recent specialty experience required
• Former perm staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as travelers and cannot live within 50 miles of the facility
