Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position on a surgical unit with Cerner EMR and Michigan RN license required.

Responsibilities

• Position is on a 46-bed Med/Surg Tele unit focused on trauma surgery, post bariatric and abdominal surgeries, post amputation, and urological cases
• Patient ratios typically 1:5-6, but may increase to 1:7 during staffing shortages
• Also cares for medical overflow and cardiac patients
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 to 19:30
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• No call responsibilities
• Uses Cerner for electronic charting
• Care for post-surgical and trauma patients with varied medical needs including cardiac support
• PCT support and onboarding of new travelers is ongoing to assist with workload
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Requirements

• Active Michigan RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Experience in a surgical Med/Surg Tele setting preferred
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility
