RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Travel RN position on Trauma Stepdown unit (636)
• 25-bed surgical trauma unit located on 5th floor of main building
• Patient ratio of 1:4 (maximum 1:5 for stepdown)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH stroke certification
• Floating requirement to stepdown service lines including Progressive Care Unit and Heart and Vascular Unit
• EMR system: Meditech experience preferred
• No on-call requirements
• Trauma/orthopedic experience preferred
• Must demonstrate excellent customer service skills and be a team player
• Care for patients requiring acute surgical intervention including trauma, bariatric, vascular, orthopedic, and neurosurgery
• Manage post-operative patients and those with neurological diagnoses
• Administer IV drips including Heparin, Amiodarone, Cardene, Dopamine, and others
• Perform vital signs every 4 hours with continuous telemetry monitoring
• Complete patient assessments every 4 hours
• Adaptable to changing environment with strong communication skills

This Level 2 trauma center provides comprehensive surgical and trauma services with 90% of inpatients coming from the emergency department. The facility features a dedicated trauma stepdown unit equipped with advanced monitoring technology and telemetry capabilities. The healthcare organization maintains a collaborative team environment with experienced nursing staff and offers exposure to diverse surgical specialties including trauma, bariatric, vascular, orthopedic, and neurosurgical procedures.
