Opportunity Overview

Veterans Engineering (VE) is actively recruiting Board-Certified Anesthesiologists to join our team supporting the Minneapolis VA Health Care System (MVAHCS). This is a rewarding opportunity to provide high-quality anesthesia care to our nation’s Veterans in a world-class federal healthcare setting.

You will be part of a collaborative team serving a diverse patient population requiring a wide range of surgical and procedural anesthesia services. The environment offers both professional fulfillment and work-life balance with stable hours and no weekend or holiday commitments.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive anesthesiology care for operating room and procedural cases (GI, Cath Lab, Interventional Radiology).

• Deliver anesthesia for cardiac, orthopedic, vascular, thoracic, neurosurgical, ENT, ophthalmologic, and general surgical procedures.

• Manage patients in surgical intensive care, acute and chronic pain management, and emergency airway situations.

• Conduct pre-anesthetic evaluations, intraoperative management, and post-anesthesia care.

• Collaborate with surgical and procedural teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Board Certification: American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA)

• Licensure: Active, full, and unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia

• Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

• Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of recent hospital-based anesthesiology experience, including recent cardiothoracic experience

• Other: Must meet all VA credentialing and privileging standards (VHA Directives 1100.20 & 1100.21)

Additional Information

• Must maintain continuing medical education (CME) and certification requirements.

• Must complete all VA-mandated training prior to start.

• Proficiency in English (spoken and written) is required.

• Must adhere to VA medical staff bylaws and facility policies.
