The Echocardiograph Technologist performs cardiac ultrasound examinations using advanced imaging technology to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating heart conditions. They are responsible for both non-invasive and invasive echocardiography procedures, including transesophageal and stress echocardiography. The role requires certification as a cardiac sonographer and experience with a variety of cardiovascular imaging modalities.

Full-Time/Day Shift
Performs cardiac ultrasound examinations according to physician's orders, utilizing a variety of complex ultrasound equipment. Objectively identifies the presence of or absence of disease utilizing a thorough knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Assists physicians with more invasive echocardiography examinations including, but not limited to, Transesophageal echocardiography, Trans-catheter echo guided procedures (location specific), pericardiocentesis, echo guided myocardial biopsies (location specific), contrast enhanced exams, exercise and pharmacological stress echocardiography.

Required Qualifications:
- Upon hire: Oregon Sonographer
- Upon hire: National Registered Cardiac Sonographer - Cardiovascular Credentialing International Or
- Upon hire: National Advanced Cardiac Sonographer - Cardiovascular Credentialing International Or
- Upon hire: National Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer from American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography
- Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree in Applied Science, from a CAAHPE accredited school in Noninvasive Cardiovascular Technology, or Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
- 1 year of experience performing cardiovascular ultrasound examinations, OR
- Minimum of 800 exams using all imaging modalities available.
- Pediatric echocardiography experience.
- Familiarity with imaging support of advanced heart failure patients (mechanical support devices).
- Experience with echo guided trans-catheter procedures. (St. Vincent Medical Center)
