PCU Registered Nurse Job Details- Location: Johnson City, TN 37604 (Tennessee healthcare job)
- Department: Hybrid Progressive Care Unit / Medical Surgical (PCU/MedSurg – Adults)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 12/14/2025 – End: 3/15/2026)
- Shift: Day shifts, 3x12-hour (06:30 – 19:00), rotating weekends
- Weekly Hours: 36
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1910 - $1960
- Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse Contract
- Orientation: 16 hours (non-billable)
- Patient Census: Average 17 patients, 19 beds
- Minimum 2 years of recent PCU or Med/Surg RN experience required
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Tennessee or compact state (must be in hand at submission)
- American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification required
- AHA ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred
- Experience with Epic electronic charting system required
- Telemetry nursing experience preferred
- Must reside at least 100 miles from Johnson City, TN facility
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
- Ability to complete compliance documents and drug screening prior to start
- Facial hair must be trimmed or removed for fit testing per CDC guidelines
- First-time travel nurses welcome!
- Deliver high-quality patient care to adults in a PCU/MedSurg setting
- Administer medications, manage IVs, and monitor telemetry for cardiac patients
- Perform blood product administration, chest tube management, wound care, and tracheostomy care
- Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and cardiac dysrhythmias
- Support and educate nursing students while performing clinical duties
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, PT, RT, pharmacy, rapid response)
- Maintain strict adherence to isolation precautions and infection control standards
- Participate in orientation and complete required electronic learning modules
