Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU night position requiring an active OK or compact RN license, with advanced certifications and pediatric critical care experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) in a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
• Patient population includes respiratory illnesses, DKA, neuro, ENT surgery, complex airway, reconstructive urology, ingestion, and sepsis
• Special procedures include deep sedation for lumbar puncture, PICC line placement, and chest tube insertion
• Use of Epic EMR system
• Floating required within scope, including to sister facilities within a 75-mile radius
• Provide critical care for pediatric patients with complex medical needs
• Must be able to float to other units and facilities within the system as required
• Maximum of 5 days requested time off allowed per contract
• No block scheduling requests will be accommodated
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Orientation includes completion of online modules by specialty
• Scrub or dress code requirements may apply per unit policy
• References from two supervisory sources are required for consideration

Requirements

• Active OK or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of PICU nursing experience required
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS
• Successful completion of EKG/Telemetry test and NIHSS & ACLS prior to start date
• Current and valid driver's license or state-issued ID required
• Utility bill in traveler’s name with matching address within the last three months required, address must be more than 75 miles from facility
• No candidates with previous employment at this health system within the past year
• No pending state license acceptance
