We are seeking an Nuclear Medicine Physician for T he Department of Veterans Affairs to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, supervising nuclear medicine technologists, and ensuring high-quality patient care.

Location: Department of Veterans Affairs, Lexington, KY
Job Type: Full-Time
Contract Duration: April 1, 2025 - March 31, 2026 (with possible extension up to six months)
Overview:
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostic procedures including PET scans, SPECT scans, and various radioisotope therapies.
- Supervise nuclear medicine technologists in clinical settings.
- Handle and oversee the administration of radiopharmaceuticals such as Pluvicto and I131.
- Conduct interventional procedures including CT-guided biopsies, drainage tube placements, and angio-guided procedures.
- Collaborate with technologists, nursing staff, and physician assistants to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all procedures and patient interactions.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
Qualifications:
- Board certification in Nuclear Medicine.
- Valid medical license and DEA certification.
- Strong background in nuclear medicine procedures and radiopharmaceuticals.
- Excellent clinical supervision skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with GE Optima SPECT/CT and GE Discovery PET/CT equipment.
- Familiarity with interventional radiology procedures.
- Previous experience in a VA or similar healthcare setting.
Working Hours:
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
- Full-time equivalent of 2080 hours per year.
Salary is commensurate with experience.
