Job Details:

• Work in a combined adult/pediatric emergency department with 1:4 patient ratios
• Minimum 2 years of emergency room experience required with travel experience preferred
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS, ACLS, PALS
• Previous charge experience required
• Weekend requirement: Every third weekend or 8 weekend shifts in 6-week schedule period
• Navy scrubs required
• EPIC charting system experience required
• Must be willing to float to all SLHS Metro EDs as needed
• Handle holiday shifts and charge RN assignments as needed
• Guaranteed 3 shifts per 13-week contract
• Maximum 7 days request time off allowed
• Skills include pediatric care, psychiatric emergencies, IV therapy/phlebotomy, respiratory care, medication administration, neurological care, cardiac monitoring, triage, and orthopedic splinting
• Work with patients of all ages including adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics
• Handle approximately 143 visits per day in 32-room emergency department
• Complete pre-start modules including EPIC training, infusion pump training, and glucometer training

This 240-bed community hospital operates a comprehensive emergency services department with 32 rooms serving both adult and pediatric patients. The facility is both STEMI and Stroke certified, providing advanced cardiac and neurological emergency care. The emergency department maintains high patient volumes with interdisciplinary support services including respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, pharmacy, and transportation to ensure comprehensive patient care.
