American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Inpatient Rehab position requiring a compact or OH RN license, with night shifts and every third weekend coverage.
Responsibilities- Work in an inpatient rehab unit with adult and geriatric patients
- Patient populations include CVA, TBI, SCI, neurological, orthopedic, amputee, cancer, cardiac, and general debility cases
- Unit requires 3 hours of medical rehab per day for each patient
- Patient ratios are 1:5 during days, 1:6 at nights, and 1:5–6 on weekends
- No ventilators or telemetry used in the unit
- Uses Epic EMR; Epic experience is required
- Shift is three 12-hour nights per week, 18:45–07:15
- Floating required within the service line and across Med Surg units at multiple hospital locations
- Weekend coverage required every third weekend
- No on-call requirements
- Responsibilities include providing care and rehabilitation to adult and geriatric patients with complex needs
- Requires strong assessment, teaching, mobilization, and patient safety skills
- Scrub color is navy
- Hospital provides free parking
- First-time travelers accepted, subject to unit manager review before offer
- Requests for more than 7 days of time off require management approval
- Active OH or compact RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- At least 1 year of recent acute inpatient rehab experience required
- Previous charge experience preferred
- Epic charting experience required
- Experience with a 1:5 patient ratio required
- Must have skills in blood glucose monitoring, feeding devices, enteral tube management, swallowing precautions, neuro and ortho care, foley and port care, IV starts, blood administration, stroke scale assessment, mobilization and assistive devices, wound and pressure ulcer care, trach care, suctioning, diabetic teaching, infection prevention, and lift/transfer devices
