Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery night shift position requiring recent high-risk and high-volume L&D experience at a facility utilizing Epic EMR.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Labor & Delivery unit of a hospital setting
- Night shifts with 12-hour shifts, totaling 36 hours per week
- Required to work every other weekend and participate in a holiday rotation
- Floating to Post-Partum unit required 1-2 shifts per week
- High-risk patient population with a large volume of non-English speaking patients
- Monthly deliveries range from 160-180
- Epic (Stork) EMR used for documentation
- No on-call required, but an extra shift is scheduled in lieu of call
- Perform triage and comprehensive assessments prior to physician arrival
- Serve a diverse patient population, including non-English speaking patients
- Orientation includes 16 hours of onboarding
- Must work two of three major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s)
- Only candidates with a taxable address at least 50 miles from the facility will be considered
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
Requirements
- Active IA or compact RN license required and must be in hand
- Minimum 2 years of recent L&D experience required
- Recent experience in high-volume delivery centers (200-300 deliveries/month) required
- High-risk and high-acuity L&D experience required
- Circulating experience in the OR required; scrub experience encouraged
- Certifications required: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NRP, and AWHONN
- Epic Stork EMR experience encouraged
- Must be comfortable managing patient care without 24/7 onsite physician support
