RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work in a 36-bed medical surgical unit with patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5
• Required to work 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week block
• Floating policy applies over core staff when needed
• Work with equipment including PD Cyclers, Welch Allyn VS Carts, Hoyer Lift, Broda Chairs, and Alaris IV Pumps
• Document using Meditech system
• Perform bedside shift reports and safety checks every 1-2 hours
• Focus on communication and responsiveness for patient experience
• Required certifications: BLS and NIHSS
• Perform basic patient assessments and general care for wounds, tracheostomy, ostomy, drains, chest tubes, strokes, and seizures
• Manage patients requiring dialysis or PCA pumps when needed
• Handle only Heparin drip administration
• Care for post-operative patients including amputations, ostomy, drains, chest tubes, oral surgeries, and wound vacs
• Follow HAI prevention protocols including CVC and Foley monitoring with standard precautions
• Implement fall prevention measures and DCL Lounge/Throughput protocols
• Maintain 100% medication scanning including controlled substances
• Dress code: scrubs in navy, blue, white, black, gray, or ceil blue
• Treated as core staff with same accountability and recognition standards
