American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift ICU position in Michigan requiring comfort with EKGs and an active MI license.
Responsibilities- Work in the Cardiovascular Unit (CVU) of a hospital setting
- Care for cardiology patients including post-op open heart surgery, congestive heart failure cases, and electrophysiology studies
- Procedures performed include PTCA, stents, TAVR, MitraClip, and bi-ventricular pacemakers
- Utilizes specialized equipment such as ventilators, CRRT, and balloon pumps
- Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts
- Required to work every other weekend
- Possible on-call responsibilities
- Required to float to similar units as needed
- Responsibilities include diagnosing and treating actual or potential health conditions in cardiovascular and critical care patients
- Team environment with leadership and medical staff dedicated to quality patient outcomes
- Strict attendance policy: three tardies or absences may result in immediate termination, with exceptions for medical emergencies
- Participation in nationally recognized clinical trials through the NISUS research department
- No full-time McLaren employees eligible if employed within the past six months
- No more than five days of requested time off (RTO) allowed
- Active Michigan RN license required at time of consideration
- Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Minimum 1 year of ICU RN experience (floating experience does not count)
- Comfort with EKG monitoring required
- Preferred experience with neuro, CVICU, trauma, vent management, CRRT, and balloon pumps
- Completion of a skills checklist for RN specialties within one year of application
