CVICU RN Job Details

• Location: Florence, SC 29505 (South Carolina nursing jobs)
• Setting: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) – Acute Care Hospital
• Assignment Type: Travel Nursing
• Start Date: December 1, 2025
• End Date: March 2, 2026
• Duration: 13-week contract
• Shift: 3x12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM), holiday rotation
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Patient Ratio: 1:2
• Float Requirement: Yes, within scope and similar units
• Charting: Epic EMR
• Scrub Color: Royal Blue
• Parking: Free on-site parking
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1570-$1680

CVICU Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active South Carolina RN license or Compact RN license (required prior to start)
• Minimum 1 year of recent CVICU RN experience (2 years preferred)
• Travel nursing experience required
• Cardiac and neuro nursing experience required
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Experience with Epic charting system preferred
• Not accepting first-time travelers or local candidates (must reside outside a 60-mile radius)
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)

CVICU RN Responsibilities

• Deliver expert care to adult and geriatric patients in the CVICU, including post-open heart and post-cardiac surgery cases
• Operate and manage advanced cardiovascular equipment: chest tubes, IABP, Impella, CRRT, temporary pacers, Swan Ganz, cardiac output monitors
• Administer and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Assist with procedures: arterial line management, central line care, ventilator management
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory therapy and phlebotomy
• Float to similar critical care units as needed
• Maintain infection prevention and isolation protocols
• Participate in scheduled holiday and weekend rotations
