Opportunity:
Registered Nurse - PCU
Job Details:
• Work on a Surgical PCU unit with almost ICU level acuity
• Patient ratio of 1:3-4
• 48 hours of orientation provided
• Work 6 weekends per 13-week contract
• Every other weekend schedule required
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS and BCLS
• Must be proficient in cardiac monitoring and management of chest tubes
• Care for fresh tracheostomies, feeding tubes, and post-operative patients
• Manage epidurals and non-titratable cardiac drips
• Experience with IV insulin protocols and titration of insulin drips required
• Handle external BiPAP/CPAP and total laryngectomy patients
• Perform Doppler flap checks
• Floating to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) is required - refusal may result in contract termination
• May be assigned charge nurse responsibilities with training provided
• Must be willing to precept students and work with learners in teaching environment
• Cerner charting system experience preferred
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Care for adult patients only with daily census of 24
• Unit has 34 beds and 34 rooms
