Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Neuro/Stroke unit night shift position, requiring an OK or compact RN license and AHA BLS.
Responsibilities
- Work in a hospital setting on a 28-bed Medical 9 West unit
- Focus on adult neuro/stroke patients with telemetry capability
- Nurse to patient ratio is 1:5-6
- Unit is supported by PCTs, a Healthcare Unit Coordinator, and monitor techs
- Virtual sitter monitoring is available
- Night shift from 18:30 to 07:00
- Provide direct nursing care and serve as the primary coordinator of patient care
- Implement and monitor patient care plans and carry out orders
- Coordinate discharge planning with the healthcare team
- Requires strong critical thinking skills and ability to work with minimal supervision
- Personal protective equipment must be worn as per standard precautions
- All candidates must have a US Social Security Number and a US address
- Local candidates are accepted with a reduced rate due to a radius rule
- COVID vaccination is not required
- Only one application allowed system wide for similar positions
Requirements
- Active OK or compact RN license required
- Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience
- Current AHA BLS certification required
- NIH Stroke Scale certification required
- Nursys verification and current license primary source verification required within 30 days prior to assignment
