Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN preferred for RN jobs)
• Active New York State Registered Nurse license (must be in hand at submission)
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Minimum 1 year of Operating Room RN experience with cardiac surgery cases (Open Heart, CVOR)
• Experience with Epic electronic charting system required
• Travel nursing experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• COVID-19 vaccination required (medical exemptions only)
• Two supervisory clinical references required (Charge RN references accepted)

Operating Room Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver expert perioperative nursing care in a high-tech cardiac OR environment
• Assist with advanced cardiac and vascular surgical procedures, including CABG, valve replacements, TAVR, TEVAR, and more
• Monitor patients intraoperatively and postoperatively to ensure safety and optimal outcomes
• Administer blood products and medications as needed during surgical procedures
• Maintain strict infection control and fire safety standards in the operating room
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including radiology, pharmacy, and rapid response
• Utilize Epic for accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Participate in monthly orientation and annual training modules as required for RN jobs
• Adhere to Universal Protocol (Time Out) and patient safety procedures
