A healthcare facility near Skanee, Michigan, is in need of temporary coverage to support its obstetrics and gynecology department. This position offers a mix of inpatient care, scheduled clinical hours, and call responsibilities.
Position Details- Start Date: November 15, 2024
- End Date: June 18, 2025
- Call Requirements:
- 10 hours of in-house coverage, followed by 14 hours of on-call coverage.
- Must respond to the Emergency Department or Labor & Delivery within 10 minutes when required.
- Average 8 call interactions per 24 hours.
- Shift Details:
- 8 hours of onsite presence with 24-hour call shifts during specified dates.
- Practice Setting: Inpatient only.
- Patients Per Day: Approximately 4.3 patients.
- Number of Beds: 15 in the obstetrics department.
Clinical Requirements- Procedures and Skills Needed:
- Low and high-risk pregnancies, routine deliveries, and C-sections.
- Vaginal breech delivery and VBACs.
- Management of complications like abruptions and multiple births.
- Proficiency in OB ultrasounds and gynecologic procedures (e.g., IUD insertion, cystoscopy, colposcopy, LEEP).
- Laparoscopic and open gynecologic surgeries.
Certifications & Qualifications- Board Certification: Must be board-certified or board-eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
- Licensure: Active Michigan state license required.
- Additional Certifications: No advanced life support certifications are required, but candidates are encouraged to hold ABLS, ACLS, BLS, or similar.
Additional Information- Hospital Support: Collaborate with 68 RNs daily.
- Residents and Students: Supervise family medicine residents and medical students during rotations.
- Deliveries: Approximately 370380 deliveries annually within the unit.
