Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work in 4E PCU/MedSurg mixed acuity unit with 1:5 patient ratios
• Schedule options: 3x12 hour shifts (36 hours/week) or 4x12 hour shifts (48 hours/week)
• Every other weekend requirement with 6 weekend shifts per contract
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• 18 months of experience required, first-time travelers accepted
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS; NIH stroke scale preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred with $3.00 charge pay differential available
• Must be comfortable with both PCU and MedSurg patients and willing to float between units
• 36 hours of orientation provided
• Dress code: black bottoms and red top
• Free parking available
• Charting system: Cerner
• Must obtain Indiana license prior to start date
• Skills include interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, post cardiac surgery care, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line and PICC line management
• Experience with cardiac and vasoactive drip titration required
• Care for patients with CV surgery, thoracic surgery, cardiology, endocrine, and oncology diagnoses
• Work with specialized equipment including telemetry, overhead lifts in private rooms
• Floating required within hospital or to affiliate hospitals nearby

Facility:

This 210-bed short-term acute care hospital provides comprehensive cardiovascular and thoracic surgical services. The facility specializes in advanced cardiac procedures including CABG, TAVR, SAVR, MVR, and VATS surgeries. The hospital features all private patient rooms equipped with overhead lifts and telemetry monitoring. The facility maintains a mixed acuity unit that serves progressive care, medical-surgical, and ICU-level cardiovascular and oncology patients, supported by comprehensive interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams.
