Roles & Responsibilities
- Prep and screen patients appropriately for imaging procedures to ensure safety and comfort
- Produce high-quality diagnostic images to support accurate physician diagnoses
- Explain procedures clearly and perform radiologic exams with age-appropriate communication
- Assess patient pain and collaborate with physicians when imaging is impacted by clinical status
- Deliver compassionate patient care while following safety protocols to minimize errors
- Maintain image quality and equipment readiness through proper operation and basic troubleshooting
- Document procedures and maintain compliance with continuing education and licensure requirements
Qualifications
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) – Radiography (required)
- ARRT certification in CT (required or willing to be trained per posting)
- Current BCLS/BLS certification (required)
- NH License of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (required)
- NH MIRT (New Hampshire Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy) must be in-hand
- 2 years of imaging experience preferred but candidates with 0-2 years may be considered
- Bachelor of Science degree preferred (but not required)
- Current compliance with continuing education credit requirements
Education
- Bachelor of Science (preferred)
Knowledge & Skills
- Radiography and CT imaging techniques and protocols
- Patient preparation, positioning, and safety practices
- Strong patient communication and age-appropriate explanations
- Ability to assess clinical situations and escalate concerns appropriately
- Familiarity with diagnostic imaging equipment and image quality assessment
- Knowledge of radiation safety, infection control, and documentation standards
