Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Labor & Delivery RN in California with at least one year of experience, BLS and NRP certifications, and a current CA RN license.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Labor & Delivery unit of an acute care hospital with 200 staffed beds
- Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2
- Night shifts, 3x12 hours, 19:00 to 07:30
- Weekend work is required
- Floating between like units and potentially all facilities within the state is expected
- Epic EMR is used and experience is required
- Scrubs provided for L&D; otherwise, solid royal blue scrubs required
- Free parking available
- Responsibilities include providing nursing care to mothers before, during, and after delivery
- Floating is required across all facilities within the state as needed
- RTO (time off) requests must be submitted at the time of application; post-offer RTO requests may not be accommodated
- Former permanent staff must wait at least three months before returning as a traveler and must live more than 50 miles from the facility
- Compliance with vaccination and documentation requirements, including SS card and DL, is necessary
Requirements
- Current and active CA RN license required (no pending licensure accepted)
- At least one year of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience
- Current BLS and NRP certifications required
- Two supervisory references from the past three years in a comparable specialty/setting required
- Epic charting experience required
- First-time travelers are accepted
