Overview
This new part-time Regional Risk Manager position is responsible for implementing the loss control programs of the Missouri United School Insurance Council (MUSIC) www.musicprogram.org within one of eight regions of the state. They are responsible for conducting onsite loss control visits and serving on analytics and risk management teams to help drive down costs and better support the membership. MUSIC is a member-owned, self-insurance pooling program of 92% of Missouri public school districts and two-thirds of Missouri community colleges. This position has the opportunity to significantly impact the program’s $125 million loss portfolio and $42 million reinsurance spend, thereby reducing the risk management expenses of school districts and community colleges within their assigned region.
The position will provide loss control support services and make semi-annual visits to each member in their region to train the members on new analytics tools and assist in the design of targeted programs to reduce losses.
How you'll make an impact
- Conduct semi-annual loss control visits of each MUSIC member in their assigned region to review loss analytics and assist in the implementation of targeted risk management programs.
- Work on analytics and risk management program design teams to better serve members with quality information and drive down loss costs.
- Take requests from the MUSIC staff and members for ad hoc analysis and targeted risk management program design.
- Communicate regularly with other MUSIC staff regarding the trends they see, especially Gallagher Bassett claims staff, the Risk Analytics Director, and the Work Comp Specialist.
- Perform other supportive functions as assigned.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's degree and 5 years’ experience in Missouri public school administration.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Excellent interpersonal / communication skills in both verbal & written form.
- Ability to work with a team.
- Solid prioritization and time management skills.
- Strong problem solving ability and analytical skills.
- Must have valid driver's license and dependable automobile transportation available.
