This locum physician position involves performing Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments for veterans in Houston, Arkansas. The role requires board certification, proficiency in medical evaluations, and accurate documentation using specified technology. This opportunity involves performing Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments in a supportive environment, whether in your own practice or at a local facility.
Job Responsibilities:- Conduct interview-based exams with some physical assessments such as range of motion and muscle strength testing.
- Perform non-treatment Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments.
- Work on a PRN basis with options for half-day (4-hour) or full-day (8-hour) shifts.
- Complete all necessary documentation and reports efficiently, including addendums and medical opinions.
- Utilize a laptop to enter and manipulate data (no Mac/Apple products applicable).
- Engage with veterans in a compassionate and respectful manner, ensuring their needs are met.
- Must be board certified in a relevant specialty (family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or general medicine experience).
- Proficiency in METs testing, respiratory, and cardiovascular evaluation and diagnosis.
- Willingness to complete DMA training to obtain certification.
- Experience with Compensation & Pension processes preferred.
- Active and unrestricted full medical license in Arkansas.
- AANP certification required.
- Must have a valid license number and certification number for documentation.
