American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) position requiring ICU and telemetry skills with a compact or Ohio RN license prior to start.
Responsibilities- Position is in the Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) of a hospital setting
- Targeted nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:2 with a 36-bed unit
- Care includes critical patients requiring A-lines, vents, drips, sheaths, and dialysis; draw and interpret ABGs
- Tele monitoring and advanced cardiovascular procedures are involved
- Uses Epic EMR; Epic experience is required
- Night shifts available (4x12 hours, 19:00–07:30)
- Required to work every other weekend and every other major holiday (including Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day)
- First to float within specialty clusters at the facility's discretion, including assignments to nearby campuses within 15 miles
- Will provide high-acuity care for critically ill cardiac patients with advanced cardiovascular interventions
- Team is supported by experienced staff and resources within the unit
- Mandatory online modules of up to 24 hours to be completed during orientation
- Navy blue scrubs are required
- First-time travelers will be considered
- All schedule and RTO requests must be submitted at the time of application; no RTO added after offer and a maximum of 14 days RTO allowed
- Facility may cancel up to 2 shifts per 13-week contract for low census
- Holiday coverage required as assigned
- Active RN license from any state or compact, or Ohio RN license required before start
- Minimum 1 year of dedicated CVICU experience required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Ability to read and interpret telemetry/EKG strips required
- Must pass an online EKG tele competency assessment before assignment begins
- Experience with A-lines, ventilators, drips, sheaths, dialysis, and ABGs required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Level 1 trauma experience preferred
- No past license actions accepted
- Nursing candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; locals not accepted
