The position is a hospital-based cardiovascular surgeon providing high-acuity surgical care for adult and geriatric patients in a Level 2 Trauma Center. Responsibilities include performing complex vascular surgeries such as aneurysm repair, carotid artery endarterectomy, and endovascular therapies for peripheral artery disease. The role requires board certification, vascular surgery fellowship completion, and involves night and weekend call coverage with travel reimbursement offered.
Assignment Type: Hospital-based / Rounding Locum Tenens
Schedule: Nights and weekends, 2 3 weekends per month
Start Date: ASAP after credentialing (credentialing days)
Call: 24-hour call, night call, call-back as needed
Hospital-based rounding coverage in a Level 2 Trauma Center
Manage adult and geriatric patients
Work in a facility with 16 operating rooms, 2 cases per day
Supportive environment for high-acuity cardiovascular procedures
Travel reimbursed: flight, hotel, rental car, mileage at IRS standard rate
Aneurysm Repair
Carotid Artery Endarterectomy (CEA)
Femoral Bypass Surgery
Fistula procedures
Endovascular & open surgical reconstruction for deep vein occlusions
Endovascular therapy for peripheral artery disease (PAD) and gangrene of limbs
Additional Vascular Conditions Treated:
Vascular malformations
Nutcracker Syndrome
Lymphedema
Venous wounds, carotid stents, varicose veins
Board Certified in Vascular Surgery
Completion of Vascular Surgery Fellowship
Active PA license
Current BLS & ACLS certification
Clean malpractice history
