Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit Float position in Ohio with night shifts, IV and telemetry skills, and Epic EMR experience required.
Responsibilities
- Work in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) float pool covering multiple stepdown/PCU areas
- Possible floating to other campuses including heart, brain & spine, and rehabilitation units
- Patient ratios are estimated at 1:3-4
- Night shifts—three 12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30
- May be assigned to units of equivalent or lower acuity as patient needs dictate
- Uses Epic EMR, prior experience required
- Will provide nursing care across multiple PCU and stepdown units as needed
- No requests for time off will be approved between 2/15/26 and 2/28/26
- Locals are accepted at the same pay rate
- Urgent fingerprinting process required for all candidates, including out-of-state applicants
- Must submit all time off requests during the initial application process
- Scrub requirements and specific holiday coverage are not specified
Requirements
- Active OH or compact RN license in hand is required
- Minimum of 2 years RN experience in a progressive care or stepdown setting
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Proficiency in IV starts and telemetry monitoring required
- Epic charting experience required
- Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- Two professional references required, with at least one from a recent supervisor or manager
- Former employees eligible only if separated for at least 6 months; current employees at Ohio State University hospital locations are not eligible
